Sprite

The idea for the beverage's name emerged in the 1940s. During that time, Coca-Cola's advertising campaigns featured a particularly popular character, Sprite Boy — an elf with silver hair and a broad smile wearing a bottle cap instead of a hat. This character became so beloved by consumers that shortly after, the company adopted its name for a new carbonated drink featuring lemon and lime flavors — "Sprite."
