Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. One of the key factors contributing to the superb quality of Chateau Latour wines is the uniqueness of its terroir. Located near the vast waters of Pauillac —the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde River, which serve as thermal regulators, creating a mild microclimate necessary for optimal grape ripening. The clayey soils, rich in iron, ensure the wine's richness, complex bouquet, and an excellent tannin foundation. The famous central part of the vineyard, named 'l'Enclos' (The Enclosure), is planted with old vines, and it is from their harvest that the Grand Vin de Château Latour estate produces its wine.
