The history of the appearance of roles began much later than sushi, in the second half of the last century. Ichiro Mashita, who worked as a cook in an American restaurant, decided to delight visitors with an unusual dish, changing the usual technology of preparing traditional Japanese sushi. For this, he used seaweed nori, in which he began to wrap rice with various nichinko - fish, seafood, avocado, soft cheese, vegetables, Tobiko caviar. On the way out, the cook received a roll, which he then cut into small pieces.
