The uniqueness of the beverage lies in its preparation process, particularly in the maturation, which consists of two stages. The first stage occurs in barrels made of white American oak, which predominantly helps the whisky absorb its own notes and enhance gastronomic diversity through additional woody nuances. This stage spans approximately 10 years. The second stage is more unconventional. The whisky is poured into barrels that previously held “Ruby” port wine. These barrels are sourced from various locations in Portugal to make the bouquet even more diverse. In this state, “Glenmorangie” continues to mature for 4 more years.
