Kyro, "Sauna Stories No. 2" Apricot Brandy Cask Finish is an ambitious 2025 release from the Finnish distillery, which aimed to convey the same state of calm, warmth, as after a traditional sauna. Made from 100% Finnish rye, which creates a characteristic spicy and bready profile. Aging takes place first in American white oak barrels, and the final stage is in apricot brandy barrels. After that, Kyrö whiskey undergoes a unique transformation in a specially created sauna. Here, selected barrels are heated to a temperature of over 50 °C, using the residual heat of the distillation process. Under the influence of heat, the interaction between whiskey and wood becomes more intense: aromas harmonize, and the taste acquires depth and rounded complexity.
