Legendary Armenian brandy with a three-year aging process, crafted through a lengthy and intricate production process. Brandy production in Armenia was initiated in 1887 by the first guild merchant, Nerses Tairyan, at the first winery and distillery he constructed in Yerevan. The distillation of spirits adhered to classical French technology, with the Yerevan plant being the first to feature two Charentais-style pot stills and dedicated spaces for aging brandy spirits under specific conditions. Meanwhile, other brandy plants in Armenia were essentially artisanal productions. In 1998, the "Yerevan Brandy Factory" joined the French group "Pernod Ricard." Armenian brandies then started to win Grand Prix and gold medals at international exhibitions.
