In fact, the prefix "kung-pao" translates as "the guardian of the court," precisely the title of "tutor." This dish is considered a classic of Sichuan cuisine in Chinese culinary tradition. According to the legend, the dish was created by a renowned Chinese court gourmet who lived during the Qing Dynasty and held the abovementioned position. It is a spicy, stir-fried chicken fillet that has been cut into pieces and mixed with peanuts, vegetables, and chili peppers.
